You Always Remember Your First Love

It was 12 years ago I first fell in love, of course at the time I was oblivious to the fact. Not love at first but a love built up on trust and vulnerability. The thrill of not knowing where things go, or if they would work  only excited me. I’ve always liked to live in the moment.

My curiosity has always left me open to trying new things, and we tried anything and everything. Exploring new positions at any given chance even if I lost focus we kept going losing ourselves in new depths.

Saturated by thoughts of doubt, ifs and buts I left myself completely exposed. This became the highlight and negative to our love. The contrast kept me intrigued though I felt comfort in the shade. We’ve had our ups and downs in the process but always found a resolution to keep balance in a love so raw.

Capturing memories and creating moments the Canon and me.

I fell in love with photography when I realized it is way more than just capturing moments but creating them. The idea that I could create the whole moment that is seen in a photo intrigued me. As much as I love taking photos, it’s the whole experience that excites me.

From building a set to styling and makeup, it all has an air of whimsy for me. I love the fact that a photo can take you to an organic moment and let you relive memories. But the fact you can take someone to a moment that has been completed created yet it feels organic to the person looking at it is just fascinating.

As a child I had a love for make believe and playing dress up. Photography to me is a reason to indulge in it on a daily basis. The idea that images outlive us for generations just means that when our photos are looked back on, the viewer will only see what we wanted to show.

What does a photo mean to you?

And if you could only have one photograph to represent and your life, what would it be?
