This time of year I just can’t help giving in to these gorgeous deep shades. Whether its clothing, makeup, gifts or home décor I live for these berry tones in winter. Usually I go full throttle and have red or auburn hair through winter but every year I end up in the same predicament. I spend winter fighting to stop my red fading and spring fighting off brassy tones.
A Bold Pop Of Colour.
Nothing screams winter glam more than a simple eye look or flirty lashes and a bold lip. Bold lips instantly make you look ‘put together’ and if it’s a matte bold lip you are already a step ahead. But Sometimes I find joy in being more playful. A simple natural makeup look with a berry toned winged liner gives you the same smug feeling you get wearing sexy underwear only you know about.
Burgundy just oozes sleek and put together. Bags, shoes, accessories they really take a plain outfit and bring it to life. The colour combo’s are endless, burgundy compliments all neutrals and earth tones. To be honest my go to is Navy and burgundy it’s almost patriotic or nordical with a seasonal twist.
Notes of Berry.
Best gift in the world…. Fragrance. Whether it’s a male, female, adult or teen you are buying for who doesn’t like to smell good? Now when I say notes of berry I know most people don’t want to walk around smelling of fruit but subtle berry notes gift fragrance a true depth.
Candles are also a fab gift, either a pretty candle or nice jarred Yankee candle work a treat. Berry scents are a great way to keep it seasonal but not so cliché. You can burn them all year round without getting the Christmas reaction you get with mulled wine or apple and cinnamon burning in July.
Maybe I’m obsessed, not that I care but I just find you can’t go wrong with berries, bolds and burgundy in the winter.
