Getting to go to London Fashion Week has been on my bucket list for the longest time. This year for ss18 I not only went to LFW but I got to photograph one of the independent fashion shows. I was hired by Fabafriq Magazine to go with their assistant editor and cover the Fashions Finest ‘London Fashion Week Off Schedule’ show.
Front row is always the best! Especially if you are a people watcher like me. Peacocking is real! There is no better place to see it than fashion week. I love it. Over the top, eccentric, avant-garde outfits often self-designed grab my attention. The in your face accessories and shoes you just can’t forget just speak to me. Fashion photography is where my heart is so when I see key pieces all I can think of is photography concepts.
Shooting runway can be very intimidating as it is one of the few times as a photographer that you are one of many all there to do the same job. So everyone is competing for the best positions to shoot from and eyeing up each other’s cameras. I always get nervous when it comes to runway as you have one chance to get the shots you came for, also most of your shots are motion. But I love the adrenaline rush.
I had so much fun shooting for Fabafriq and can’t wait to read their editorial.
